NEXT CHAPTER. THIS IS JEN SHAH.
I’m Jen Shah —a wife, mother, entrepreneur, television personality, and someone whose life has unfolded very publicly through extraordinary highs and some incredibly difficult lows.
Many people first came to know me through The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, where I shared my family, friendships, ambition, humor, and larger-than-life personality with the world. But what you saw on television—and what you may have read or heard in the years since—is only part of my story.
The last several years changed my life and my family in ways I could never have anticipated. I made decisions that carried serious consequences, including my decision to plead guilty. I accept the consequences that came with that decision. I’ve learned that accountability isn’t something you simply say—it requires being willing to look honestly at your choices and your role in how you arrived where you are.
For me, that meant confronting things I hadn’t confronted before. There were relationships I should have questioned more carefully, red flags I should have paid attention to, and moments when I should have stopped, asked harder questions, and trusted my instincts instead of continuing to move at a hundred miles an hour. Those were my decisions, and I am accountable for them.
But accountability and the full story are not the same thing.
There is much about the decisions I made—and why I made them—that I have not been able to discuss publicly. For years, I watched from a distance as my story continued to be told in headlines, on television, on social media, and by people with their own versions of events, while there were things I simply could not address.
I can’t change what was said in my absence. But I can finally speak for myself.
I acknowledge my past, but I don’t intend to live in it. I can’t change the chapters I’ve already lived, but I can decide what I do with what they taught me. Today, my focus is on my family, rebuilding, creating, returning to business and media, and moving forward with a perspective I could only have gained by living through all of it.
And I’m still me.
I still love big. I still laugh loudly. I still have opinions. I’m still curious, ambitious, unpredictable, and probably always going to say the thing everyone else in the room is thinking. The difference is that today I understand myself, my choices, and what matters to me in a way I never did before.
Dear Jen Shah is where all of those pieces come together. This is my home base—a place to connect directly, share what I’m building, have conversations that don’t fit neatly into a headline or television episode, and let you into this next chapter as it actually happens. Some of it will be serious. Some of it will be ridiculous. Some of it may surprise you. But it will come directly from me.
There is a lot you know about my story.
There is a lot you don’t.
And for the first time in a very long time, I get to decide what the next chapter looks like.
I’m ready. Let’s talk.
